“Introduction Meeting of Qurbani on the needy’s behalf Organization in 2022” which was jointly held by the Presidency of Religious Affairs and Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) was carried out with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs and Chairman of Board of Trustees of Turkiye Diyanet Foundation.
Giving a speech at the meeting held in the campus of Presidency of Religious Affairs, President of Religious Affairs Erbaş said: “Qurbani is worship that has continued since Prophet Adam as a manifestation of the believers’ desire to come closer to the Almighty Allah.
Stating that Qurbani worship is an expression of loyalty and submission, President Erbaş continued his words as follows by noting that the reward for Qurbani worship which is performed with goodwill and sincerity is to get closer to the Almighty Allah (SWT):
“Qurbani is a worship that is social worship that has a social extent as well as an occasion to attain sacred mercy and gain the consent of the Almighty Allah (swt). Qurbani worship, which includes many wisdoms within itself with regard to both individuals and society, has an important aspect that strengthens the consciousness of fraternity among believers and develop the consciousness of sharing, cooperation and solidarity among people. With this aspect, Qurbani is sharing for Allah (SWT). It is a worship that brings us closer to each other by sharing. Sharing the animals which are slaughtered for the Almighty Allah (SWT) shows our Beloved Prophet’s (saw) exemplary morals and is a very important Sunnah that handed down to us.”
Saying that Muslims have adopted sharing their Qurbani with those who are in need as a part of Qurbani worship and as a nabawi behavior from past to the present day, President Erbaş stated that the Presidency of Religious Affairs and Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) continue to produce services for well-being, goodness and tranquillity of entire humanity, especially our nation since the day that they were established.
“Türkiye Diyanet Foundation has become an organization that is the symbol of goodness”
Remarking that Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) which started off with the belief, ‘goodness will change the world has become an organization that is the symbol of goodness all over the world, President Erbaş continued his words as follows:
“Türkiye Diyanet Foundation extends the helping hand of our generous nation to every part of the world that is needed, regardless of any belief or ideology. It carries out benevolence activities in many areas from education to accommodation possibilities, from food to social aid, from building orphanages to mosques. It rushes to the aid of the helpless and orphaned people who are exposed to disasters, occupations, and wars in every corner of the world, especially Muslim minorities.
On the other hand, our Presidency of Religious Affairs, as in all matters, always guides our nation in terms of knowledge and actual matters regarding Qurbani worship, which is an order of the Almighty Allah (SWT) pursuant to its duty, ‘carrying out activities with regard to worship principles’ and it will continue to perform this guidance thereafter. It produces services so that all our citizens who can afford to realize Qurbani can perform this exceptional worship in the most accurate way and in the safest way.
“Our goal is to strengthen our bond of fraternity”
Stating that they sensitively held Qurbani on the needy’s behalf Organization which has been jointly conducted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation uninterruptedly since 1993, President Erbaş said as “Our goal is to support our citizens who would like to have their Qurbani slaughtered on the needy’s behalf and to ensure that the Qurbani worship is performed in accordance with the religious principles and that its social extent is fulfilled in the most beautiful way. Our goal is to share the joy and happiness of Eid al-Adha with more brothers and sisters by delivering Qurbani meats to more needy people; to strengthen our bond of fraternity with oppressed, victim, and needy people.”
Emphasizing that Türkiye Diyanet Foundation produces services in a highly transparent manner, President Erbaş used the following expressions,” It meticulously follows up every stage of the organization from receiving the donations to slaughtering and distributing the Qurbani. The animals are slaughtered under the supervision of our hodjas working in the Presidency of Religious Affairs and volunteers of our Foundation in person by reading the names of the Proxy owners one by one.”
“We are working for increasing the goodness and beauty”
Stating that Qurbani on the needy’s behalf organization is carried out by Mufti’s Offices in Türkiye, and in cooperation with the embassies, consultancies, attaches’ offices, coordinatorships, religious administrations, and local organizations abroad, President Erbaş said by expressing that they are working for increasing the goodness and beauty from the most remote corners of Turkiye to the most remote countries of the world, “ At this point, I would like to emphasize that our greatest opportunity is our sincere, determined and self-sacrificing human resources. As a matter of fact, the service potential and sensitivity of our Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation contribute to experiencing a regular increase in the Qurbani on the needy’s behalf entrusted to us every year in this sense.”
Remarking that they slaughtered 3,391.173 shares of Qurbani in many different geographies, especially in our country, and that they delivered the helping hand of our nation to millions of people in need during this 28-year period, President Erbaş continued his words as follows:
“We contribute to Eid al-Adha happiness of needy people by slaughtering 589 thousand 136 share Qurbani that were entrusted to Türkiye Diyanet Foundation at 403 sacrificial points in the country and abroad last year, alhamdulillah. I especially would like to express my thanks in the presence of you to our muftis, preachers, Imam-Hatips, muezzins-trustees, hodjas with entire different titles, members of our Presidency, our brothers and sisters working in our Mufti’s Offices, our teachers in Qur’an courses, each official and volunteer members of our Presidency and Foundation, which took on a task .”
“We aim to reach more than 25 million people in need this year.”
Stating that they aim to reach more than 25 million people in need this year with Qurbani on the needy’s behalf Organization which they hold with the theme, “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother”, President Erbaş talked “We plan to extend the helping hand of our nation to our oppressed and needy brothers and sisters in 81 provinces and 922 districts in Türkiye and in 80 countries and 345 regions in our heart geography extending from Africa to Asia, from the Balkans to the Caucasus, from the Far East to Latin America abroad. With the support and goodness of our nation, we would like to make more of our oppressed and needy brothers and sisters smile and contribute to their happiness of Eid al-Adha.”
“Türkiye Diyanet Foundations’ price for Qurbani is 2 thousand 250 TRY in the country and 1.800 TRY abroad”
Announcing the prices for Qurbani on the needy’s behalf in 2022, President Erbaş said,” We determined the price for Qurbani on the needy’s behalf as 2 thousand 250 TRY for those who want to have them slaughtered in the country and 1,800 TRY for those who want to have them slaughtered abroad.
Expressing that those who would like to support Türkiye Diyanet Foundation’s Qurbani on the needy’s behalf organization can donate online at www.tdv.org and bagis.tdv.org addresses, President Erbaş continued his words as follows:
“In addition to donating online and giving their Qurbani through our mobile donation application, they can participate in Türkiye Diyanet Foundation Qurbani program via Provincial and District Mufti’s Offices, Branch Offices of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, all PTT branches, and banks.
Our citizens who live abroad can confidently trust their Qurbani on the needy’s behalf to our Foundation via Consultancies of Religious Services, Attaches’ Offices, Coordinatorships and mosque association,s and religious officials in the relevant countries. In addition, we will establish Qurbani donation stands at important points of cities in 81 provinces before the Eid al-Adha inshallah.
Our citizens can both provide donations and obtain information about Qurbani activities at the stands that will be established at central points in the provinces and districts that citizens can easily reach. In addition, our citizens will be able to get detailed information about Qurbani on the needy’s behalf by calling our foundation at 0312 416 90 00.
On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart to our citizens who share their Qurbani, donation,s and Dua with oppressed and needy people in the world. May the Almighty Allah (SWT) let these benevolences we did conduce to the strengthening of our unity and integrity, sincerity, and fraternity in our glorious country; May the Almighty Allah (SWT) carry peace, blessing, well-being, and mercy to every place where our helping hand reached and let our organization conduce to goodness. I would like to present my respect and affection to you all from the bottom of my heart.
