Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) distributed Qurbani meat to 13,000 needy families in the Gaza Strip under the Israeli blockade.

According to a written statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Foundations and Religious Affairs in Gaza, Qurbani slaughtered in Gaza within the scope of TDV’s Qurbani on the needy’s behalf organization were delivered to needy families in the region.

Within the scope of the “Qurbani on the needy’s behalf Project” supported by the Ministry, 13,000 needy families in Gaza were provided with Qurbani meat.

Abdulhadi al-Agha, Deputy Minister of Foundations and Religious Affairs thanked the Presidency of Religious Affairs and TDV for reaching out to the needy worldwide, especially in Palestine.

Avd Gayan, Chairman of the “Qurban Project” Committee, pointed out that the distribution of the Qurbani meat is carried out by the zakat committees affiliated with the Palestinian Ministry of Foundations in Gaza, and said the committees worked according to a unified central database that would ensure justice in the delivery of Qurbani to targeted families.

Israel has been blockading the Gaza Strip, where nearly 2 million Palestinians live, by air, land, and sea since 2006.
