Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı has launched an aid campaign with the slogan “Now! We Stand Beside Our Brothers” to heal the wounds caused by the disasters in Morocco and Libya.
Announcing the campaign to support the two brotherly countries during these difficult times, Türkiye Diyanet Foundation General Manager İzani Turan said, “During the days when we experienced a calamity of the century, our brotherly countries, Morocco and Libya, provided significant support to our country. With our nation’s generous support, we will also stand by them during these difficult times. We have launched a campaign to deliver humanitarian aid to both countries,” he added.
“We will overcome the difficulties hand in hand”
Reminding that Türkiye is the country that provides the most humanitarian aid in the world, and the non-governmental organization is the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, Turan said, “One of the most important features that make us who we are is undoubtedly that the sense of solidarity which has always been at the forefront. We attempted to heal the wounds by joining hands in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay. I hope we will overcome this difficulty faced by brotherly countries by standing together. Our country and our Foundation, on the side of the victim and the distressed, will again stand by their brothers and sisters.” he added.
Emphasizing the urgent need for humanitarian aid in Morocco and Libya, Turan said, “After the ‘disaster of the century’ that occurred last February, aid from many friendly and brotherly countries reached our country. Our Moroccan and Libyan brothers have been with us in this process with their help. Now our brothers are in a difficult situation, waiting for our help. The disasters that occurred in Morocco and Libya have hurt millions of our brothers and sisters. Millions of our brothers and sisters need support due to earthquakes and floods. Our brothers and sisters who have lost their homes and shelters also face hunger and thirst. They urgently need food, water, healthcare, and shelter materials. With the support of our nation, we will heal the wounds of those affected by the earthquake and flood,” he said.
