In the scope of the 2024 Qurbani Organization, supported by generous donors, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has delivered Qurbani meat to nearly 35 million needy people, both domestically and across 78 countries worldwide.
The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, in cooperation with the Presidency of Religious Affairs, carried out its Qurbani slaughter program this year with the theme “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closet To Your Brother,” slaughtering 747,052 shares of Qurbanies entrusted by the Turkish people across 81 provinces and 922 districts domestically, and 348 regions in 78 countries around the world, resulting in the distribution of Qurbani meat to 34,737,310 people.
The General Manager of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, İzani Turan, stated that the Foundation, which has been a representative of goodness for the Turkish nation through a wide range of humanitarian activities for nearly half a century, has organized Qurbani slaughter events for approximately 31 years with the support of benefactors.
Turan emphasized the successful performance of the 2024 Qurbani Organization with the support of donors, saying, “Our Foundation’s volunteers, clad in blue vests, representing our nation and supporters, tirelessly and meticulously delivered entrusted donations around the clock, fulfilling expectations without fatigue, especially reaching countries such as our own and Palestine during this Eid al-Adha.”
“Our objective is to provide Qurbani meat to 1,050,000 Palestinian siblings”
Stating that they were saddened by the events in Palestine this year, General Manager İzani Turan said, “Our nation has had a distinct affinity towards Palestine. With the donations received, we will deliver Qurbani meat to 1 million 50 50,000 Palestinian siblings. Our teams prepared the Qurbanies by slaughtering them in Egypt and Lebanon. We have started distributing the meat to our siblings in Palestine, and we have also secured cold storage rentals in Egypt and Lebanon. The meat that remains undelivered at this stage will be stored here, to promptly deliver it to our Palestinian siblings when possible.
Turan stressed the significance of following Islamic guidelines in the Qurbani slaughter of qualified animals, declaring, “We performed the slaughtering of shares entrusted to our Foundation through representatives without causing harm. Our staff and volunteers, after identifying animals meeting Qurbani standards without any doubt, proceeded to read aloud the names of citizens who entrusted them with authority, conducting the slaughters with the support of the local community.
Turan emphasized that the meat from Qurbanies slaughtered within the country and around the world is packaged and distributed during the Eid al-Adha by the Foundation’s officials and volunteers to the needy, orphans, the oppressed, and victims. Turan added that, with the support of benefactors, they have also provided various gifts, including the Holy Quran and the Turkish flag, to the needy.
Turan, emphasizing the profound affection towards the Turkish flag abroad, remarked, “I have communicated with our colleagues, both staff and volunteers, who are actively in the field delivering our nation’s entrusted donations. Our colleagues proudly share how people stop to Dua upon seeing the Turkish flag, kiss it, and their faces brighten with happiness and hope. Our colleagues share many memories of experiencing the same love and affection wherever they go.
Turan stated that, due to Eid al-Adha, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation’s officials and volunteers abroad, also mentioned that wells and fountains inaugurated by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation in regions deprived of even a single drop of water.
Since 1993, there have been 5,409,310 shares of Qurbani donated
Turan pointed out that since 1993, donors have entrusted a total of 5,409,310 Qurbani shares to the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation.
Turan expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the organization, saying:
