As part of the program “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer To Your Brother”, Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) teams continue their efforts in Togo by delivering Qurbani meat to 21,000 families.

On the second day of Eid, TDV proceeded with the slaughter of 2,100 animals donated from Türkiye in the West African country of Togo.

Under the supervision of veterinarians and TDV officials, Qurbani animals are slaughtered under Islamic principles in the capital Lomé and the cities of Sokodé, Dankpen, Kara, Tchaoudjo, Kozah, and Kambolé. The meat is being distributed to approximately 21,000 families.

“It’s truly heartwarming to witness the happiness of these beautiful souls”

Çetin Öztürk, a DİTİB volunteer living in France who took part in the activities in the city of Sokodé, stated that the Qurbani slaughters were carried out in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Volunteering in the region, Öztürk said:

“It’s such a beautiful feeling to be here and see the joy on these people’s faces. I came to live this spiritual experience and to connect with this place. I just hope we’re able to be of help to the TDV team from Türkiye.”
