After the devastating floods caused by monsoon rains in Pakistan, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) continues to extend a helping hand to victims, working to heal their wounds.

In the brotherly nation of Pakistan, ongoing heavy rains have submerged numerous settlements. Following the 2022 floods that affected one-third of the country, this disaster has been recorded as “the most destructive flood in recent years.” Hundreds of lives have been lost, and thousands of homes have been destroyed or rendered uninhabitable.

In the aftermath of the devastating floods , the Religious Services Counsellor’s Office of the Presidency of Religious Affairs in Islamabad and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) launched humanitarian aid efforts for disaster victims.

Speaking about the humanitarian operations in the flood-hit regions, Dr. Abdurrahman Akkuş, Religious Services Counsellor in Islamabad, stated:

“Our Counsellor’s Office, together with the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, has taken immediate action in the affected areas to stand beside our Pakistani brothers and sisters. In Bunner, Muzaffargarh, and Jhelalpur, we provided hot meals and clean drinking water to 18,000 people. Furthermore, we delivered food packages to 1,000 families and kitchen sets to 1,000 families. Relief activities are continuing.”

He further emphasized that reconstruction and repair work are also ongoing for businesses, homes, and mosques devastated by the floods .
