Türkiye Diyanet Foundation was established on March 13, 1975, as a continuation of this act of goodness by the Head of Religious Affairs Dr. Lutfi Dogan, Vice Presidents of Religious Affairs Dr. Tayyar Altinkulaç and Yakup Ustun, and Personal Affairs Director Ahmet Uzunoglu.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, which was established to support the activities of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, delivering religious services to a wider audience and raising the next generation who will take part in religious services, has become a significant civil society movement in our country today with 1,003 branches and a wide range of activities and international aid activities in 149 countries around the world, from education to culture, social and charitable services to supporting religious services.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, which has become an international foundation thanks to the strong support of our charitable nation and the diligent efforts of people who are committed to our foundation, offers hope to the oppressed without discrimination of religion, language, color, and gender through its work around the world.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, which cares about every activity related to social peace and tranquility, aimed at the religious, and cultural development of society, acts to be a foundation in the service of humanity in our country and on seven continents with the aim and purpose of the domination of goodness on Earth.
Our foundation has built 3,817 mosques, 2,866 Quran courses, and over 100 mosques and educational buildings in 25 countries after completing Ankara Kocatepe Mosque, which started construction in 1967 and put it into the service of our people.
Since 1983, Türkiye Diyanet Foundation has organized a Turkish Book and Culture Fair in Ankara and Istanbul in keeping the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. The 44-volume Islamic Encyclopedia, which is an important source of literature, and its many other sources have contributed to our cultural treasure.
Our foundation, which prioritizes educational activities in Türkiye and abroad, strives to provide a solid religious education to young people from 111 countries in our country and across the world at all levels of education from Quran courses, Memory education (Quran memorization), kindergarten to elementary school, Imam Hatip high school to university, master’s degree, and Ph.D.
Our foundation, which extends the hand of our nation to millions of people in crisis regions where hunger, natural disasters, wars, and violence are experienced in different geographies of the world, carries the joy of Eid to the oppressed geographies with the iftar tables it established during Ramadan and the Qurbani slaughter organized on Eid al-Adha.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, a private legal entity established according to Law No. 903, which amends the Turkish Civil Code, has been granted a tax exemption through the Council of Minister’s decision dated December 20, 1977, and numbered 7/14433 published in the Official Gazette dated January 13, 1978, and numbered 16168.
Furthermore, according to Article 6 of the Law No. 2860 on the Collection of Charities, our Foundation was deemed to be among the organizations that collected aid without permission, following the Council of Ministers Decree No. 2005/9171 dated July 12, 2005, published in the Official Gazette No. 25897 dated August 5, 2005.
