Through the “One Qurbani One Quran” project, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) distributed 80,000 copies of the Holy Quran to the needy, with the support of benevolent donors as part of its 2024 Qurbani on behalf program.
For more than thirty years, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation has organized Qurbani on our donors’s behalf, and this year, while extending its aid to the needy, it also did not forget those around the world who have difficulty accessing the Holy Quran as a physical book.
During the last Eid al-Adha, TDV distributed 70,000 copies of the Holy Quran to the needy in 20 countries through its ‘One Qurbani One Quran’ project. In addition, 10,000 copies were delivered to the needy within the country.
TDV General Manager İzani Turan emphasized the importance of the project implemented under the Qurbani on Behalf organization, remarking, ‘The holy Quran, our sacred book, is the guide that directs us to the righteous path. The holy Quran is healing and mercy; a cure for troubled hearts. Acting with this awareness, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, through this
meaningful project, not only distributes Qurbani donations from our generous nation to the needy but also works to address their spiritual needs by presenting them with copies of the Holy Quran.
“They try to memorize the Holy Quran from wooden boards”
Turan pointed out that people all over the world have substantial difficulties accessing the holy Quran in its physical form, saying, “In Africa, in particular, people become Hafiz by memorizing verses written on wooden tablets called ‘Luh’. Millions of oppressed and victims cannot see the Holy Quran in the form of a Mushaf due to impossibilities. With the support of our benevolent donors, we are delivering the final divine messages sent by the Almighty to all of humanity in physical form to our waiting brothers and sisters.”
80 thousand copies of the Holy Quran were delivered
“Turan provided the following information regarding the countries where the Holy Quran was distributed as part of the 2024 Qurbani on our donors’ behalf organization through the ‘One Qurbani One Quran’ project: ‘We distributed 70,000 copies of the holy Quran in 20 countries, including Somalia, Afghanistan, Kenya, Burundi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Chad, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Malawi, Benin, Togo, Bangladesh, and Balkan countries. Additionally, we distributed 10,000 copies within the country.'”
Turan also shared information about the ” My Present Is Quran” campaign carried out by the foundation throughout the year, saying, ‘We continue to deliver our Holy Quran, which requests all of humanity to guidance and eternal salvation, to our brothers and sisters with the support of our benefactors.” As part of the “My Present Is Quran” project, 1,835,475 copies of the Holy Quran were distributed to 96 countries across Türkiye, Asia, Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East. Our staff and volunteers are continuing the distribution of the Holy Quran printed in 41 different languages.

He also mentioned that they can support the project through banks using the website bagis.tdv.org.
