It is well known that to be understood is a significant blessing in this life. Ultimately, to comprehend someone, you need to know and speak their language. Whereas when it comes to truly understanding people and reaching their hearts, that’s when we need to transcend the boundaries of language. The Imam of İsa Bey Mosque in the Selçuk district of Izmir, İbrahim Taşdemir, who is also the father of a martyr, is doing exactly that.
Through the cards he crafts in multiple languages, he garners the admiration of tourists visiting his mosque. By reciting the Holy Quran in their native tongues, he fosters warmth towards Islam in their hearts.
According to his own words, Ibrahim Taşdemir aims to “share the beauty of Islam with everyone who visits here,” making sure to teach visitors how to perform ablution and offering them Turkish delight as well. By showing a smiling face to each person until they bid farewell, he displays the smiling countenance and essence of Islam, along with its tolerance.
