“If anyone removes a Muslim’s anxiety, Allah will remove from him, on account of it, one of the anxieties of the Day of resurrection.” Muslim, Al bir, 58
As climate change intensifies, disasters—floods, fires, landslides, and avalanches are becoming ever more frequent. Situated at the meeting point of Asia, Europe, and Africa, and resting on the restless Alpine-Himalayan seismic belt, our homeland endures immense challenges. In these moments of trial, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation is committed to one principle: offering hope and strength when it matters most.
Beginning with the Elazığ earthquake in 2020 and deepening with the tragic earthquakes of February 6, we reached thousands of hearts through our search and rescue efforts, food distribution, shelter support, and in-kind aid—proving that even in loss, solidarity brings healing.
Among our 16 search and rescue teams, 6 are accredited. In the catastrophic earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay—known as the “Disaster of the Century”—our dedicated teams became a lifeline, rescuing 51 people from beneath the rubble.
