In Indonesia, volunteers from the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) choose to distribute the Qurbanies provided by benefactors on their behalf using motorcycles in certain impoverished areas because of the geographical conditions.

In the “2024 Qurbani on Behalf Slaughter Program” conducted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the foundation with the theme ‘Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother,” 1200 cattle have been slaughtered in the country.

Across 12 different regions in the country, processed Qurbani meat is being provided to 150,000 needy people.

In the comparatively poorer Bima province, TDV volunteers are using vehicles to distribute Qurbani meat to villages. They resort to motorcycles for villages that vehicles cannot reach.

Carrying bags of meat, volunteers visit each house on motorcycles to distribute the Qurbanies meat to the needy.

“We have completed our Qurbani slaughters”

Enes Topal, responsible for the Indonesia Qurbani Organization of the Foundation, stated in his announcement that the Qurbani slaughters in the country have been completed.

Topal indicated that they have slaughtered a total of 1200 large Qurbanies in Indonesia and mentioned that they have delivered Qurbani meat to around 150,000 needy individuals.

Topal narrated that they slaughtered 100 Qurbanies in Bima today, declaring, “We have finished our Qurbani slaughters. In Bima, where we carried out donations, our volunteers used motorcycles to deliver Qurbani meat to locations unreachable by vehicles.

Topal pointed out the careful delivery of Qurbanies to the needy by those who entrusted their donations, expressing appreciation to the volunteers who took part in the organization.

“Thank you” from children in Turkish

TDV volunteer actor Burak Haktanır and journalist Mehmet Ardıç were also present at the Qurbani meat distribution in Bima. Haktanır and Ardıç handed out candies, balloons, and various gifts to children.

The children shouted in response to the volunteers’ attention, saying “Thank you, Türkiye!”
