The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) continues its Qurbani on Behalf slaughter and meat distribution efforts in Nigeria, which has the largest Muslim population in Africa.
As part of the “2024 Qurbani on Behalf Slaughter Organization” initiated by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (DİB) and TDV with the theme “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother,” cattle were slaughtered in Abuja, the capital, and in the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano, and Sokoto.
The meat from the slaughtered Qurbanies is handed out to the needy in the regions of the states.
Serkan Aksoy, involved in the Qurbani program in Nigeria, mentioned that the DİB and TDV are active in more than 140 countries all over the world, distributing the Qurbani meat to the needy abroad.
Aksoy mentioned that 4,300 cattle were slaughtered in Nigeria this year through the 30,100 proxies provided.
Highlighting that Türkiye has always supported the oppressed, Aksoy stated, “For this reason, we are in Nigeria during Eid al-Adha. We are spending time here reinforcing our bond with our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
