In Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake that buried Türkiye, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, which increased its activities, increased its daily meal capacity to 10 thousand through the mobile kitchen.
TDV, which fulfills one of the most basic needs of hot meals, which is one of the most basic needs in earthquake-hit areas, with a mobile kitchen, offers 3 meals a day, breakfast and hot meals in the morning, lunch, and evening.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation Director of Charity and Social Services Abdullah Aydos declared that as they reached the region, they served 3,000 daily meals and increased that number based on the need.
“One of the most important needs of survivors and their staff is the hot meal,” says Abdullah Aydos, who reported that 10,000 people take a daily meal out of the mobile kitchen vehicle in the earthquake region. From the moment the earthquake hit, we have shipped our mobile kitchen, our mobile catering vehicles, our search-and-rescue teams, and all of the Foundation’s commodities, and we are continuing to ship them to the region. Moreover, humanitarian aid trailers organized by provincial mufti offices and branches of our Foundation from all over Türkiye according to the needs determined, are rapidly reaching our provinces affected by the earthquake.”
Aside from the hot meal, they also had access to citizens and staff in the region, with tea, coffee, and a variety of refreshments, Aydos continued as follows:
“Without saying day and night, without sleeping properly, our officials in the region continue their hard work. With the support of our nation, we are mobilizing all our means to heal the wounds caused by the earthquake. I hope that we will overcome these difficult days by joining hands together as a country.”
