Türkiye Diyanet Foundation General Manager, Izani Turan, said, “We are hosting around 80,000 earthquake victims in our Quran courses, mosques, and dormitories across Türkiye. We have provided hot meals to 1.6 million people.”
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) delivered hot meals to 1.6 million people in the provinces affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
TDV General Manager Izani Turan said that after the quake hit, they came to the region and started working.
Stating that they work with 17 thousand of personnel in the region, Turan continued as follows:
“We have sent 623 trailers of various supplies and 182 trucks of necessities to the region. In addition, we have a mobile kitchen vehicle in the region. In the first days, we served around 10,000 meals. As NGOs increased in the region, the burden on our shoulders decreased. We are one of the first teams to arrive at the field. We created a logistics center by twinning all 10 cities with twin cities. We have created a logistics center by twinning all 10 cities. We gather the materials there and make shipments. The materials that come from there are shared among the branches with the help of our colleagues and the needs in the field are met.
Turan explained that they have delivered aid from various cities in Türkiye to the earthquake victims, and added, “We are accommodating around 80,000 earthquake victims in our Quran courses, mosques, and dormitories across Türkiye. We have provided hot meals to 1.6 million people.” We will not leave here until the end of Holy Ramadan. We will reach as many people as we can.
