A delegation from Pattani, Thailand, donates 35,683 dollars and 10,000 Turkish Liras to the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) to heal the wounds of the earthquake that affected 10 provinces. The second chairman of the Board of Trustees of TDV, Ihsan Açık, said, ‘It deeply touched us that they provided support to Türkiye despite the difficult situation in their region.
A delegation from Pattani, Thailand, located approximately 7,500 kilometers away from Türkiye, visited the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV).
The delegation, which included Thailand’s Deputy Mufti and Pattani Regional Mufti Haci Abdurrahman Bin Davut, donated to the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation to heal the wounds of the earthquake that affected 10 provinces based in Kahramanmaraş.
İhsan Açık, II Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, conveyed his thanks to the delegation for their get-well wishes for the disaster and for providing aid to be used in earthquake-stricken areas.
Açık said the following regarding the visit: ‘We hosted the Deputy Mufti of Thailand and Pattani Regional Mufti Haji Abdurrahman Bin Davut and the accompanying delegation at our Foundation. They expressed their get-well wishes for Türkiye regarding the earthquake and conveyed that they continuously pray for the Turkish people and will be by our side. They donated 35,683 dollars and 10,000 Turkish Liras that they collected in Pattani to our Foundation to heal the wounds caused by the earthquake.
Emphasizing that our relations with Pattani date back to the Ottoman Empire, Açık, said, “As a country, we are reaping the fruits of the seeds of goodness we have sown in the world. Pattani, which was introduced to Islam in the 12th century, is one of the regions in the world where we have delivered aid. It is about 7 thousand 500 km away from Türkiye, yet they are currently sharing our pain, and despite their difficult circumstances, they are supporting us. We were very touched by this situation. “They want to come here and raise our burden together, hand in hand. May Allah be pleased with them,” he said.
Açık, sharing information about the love of Pattani Muslims towards Sultan Abdulhamid Khan, said, “Abdulhamid Khan, sent 27 young people from Anatolia to the occupied Pattani in those years, and these young people became martyrs for the independence of Pattani. Sultan Abdulhamid Khan personally provided financial and spiritual support to the Pattani Muslims. There is a great love for Sultan Abdulhamid Khan and Türkiye in Pattani. He also stated that “This is the most evident sign of the love for our country.
Thailand’s Deputy Mufti and Pattani District Mufti Haci Abdurrahman bin Davut said, “Consider this aid money that we are bringing as a drop in the ocean.” For now, our financial capability is limited to this extent. Please accept this money. We learned how to provide aid from you, Türkiye. Now it’s our turn. We are with Türkiye in these difficult times with our prayers and to the best of our ability,” he said.
The donation made by the Pattani delegation of Thailand to heal the wounds of the earthquake regions was received by İhsan Açık, the II Chairman of the TDV Board of Trustees.
