In Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake that deeply damaged Türkiye, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) serves hot meals for 3,000 people daily to disaster victims and search-and-rescue teams with its mobile kitchen.
TDV mobile kitchen, which is based at Ayşe Gümüşer Primary School in the center of Kahramanmaraş, 3 hot meals, water, and hot drinks are served to the disaster victims.
Abdullah Aydos, Director of charity and social services of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, stated that from the first moment of the earthquake, the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation mobilized all opportunities. Stating that the teams continue to work in coordination with AFAD in all regions affected by the earthquake, Abdullah Aydos said, “We continue our sustain in Kahramanmaraş, which is the center of the earthquake. We provide 3 warm meals a day, for 3000 people who were affected by the earthquake and also for rescue and search staffers. Our teams are working day and night, and we are mobilizing all our opportunities for our citizens affected by the earthquake.”
The impact of the quake was a huge area, Aydos said, adding that the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation quickly reached the regions, responding to the needs of citizens.
Stating that they meet basic humanitarian needs with the support of benefactors, Aydos said, “Currently, our humanitarian aid and search-and-rescue activities are continuing hopefully in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman, Malatya, Gaziantep, Adana, Şanlıurfa, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır and Kilis, and everywhere where the earthquake has affected us. As a country, we are going through a very difficult process, in which Alhamdulillah is transferring all kinds of opportunities of our state and nation to the regions affected by the earthquake. I hope we will heal these wounds together.” He added.
