ALI ONDER
He dedicated his life to making the Minbar.
Forty years of sincerity…
Ali Onder, who lives in the town of Sucati district in Sivas, has been making pulpit (Minbar) embroidering wood for years. Forty years ago, he was thinking about how to use the timber he had, but he came up with the idea of making Minbars at mosques. The 86-year-old uncle Ali has donated the pulpits he has built so far to mosques all over Turkiye. Mr. Ali established a spiritual connection with the pulpits he made; as he places each piece with love, and treats them like his children. When the pulpit is completed and goes from the workshop to its original place, he feels sadness on the one hand and joy on the other, as if he bids farewell to a child. Knowing that the khutbah is read every Friday in mosques by going up to the Minbar that he made himself increases his happiness.
According to Ali Onder, the good thing in this world is to do whatever job there is to serve humanity incessantly.
