Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation (TDV) is distributing Qurbani meat to thousands of needy families in Afghanistan for Eid al-Adha.
TDV has initiated distribution activities for 13,300 shares of Qurbani meat to needy people, particularly focusing on disabled, widowed, and orphaned persons, under its 2024 “Qurban on Behalf Program.”
In the capital Kabul, 550 Qurbanies were slaughtered, while 350 were slaughtered in Herat, and 1000 were slaughtered in Mazar-i-Sharif, making a total of 1900 cattle that will be distributed to thousands of needy Afghan families.
Distribution will cover 48,000 families
Abdulkadir Bekiroğlu, Religious Affairs Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, mentioned that 48,000 families will receive aid with Qurbani meat throughout the Eid.
Bekiroğlu said, “With the entrusted Qurbani of our noble nation, we are entering thousands of homes and hearts. With the goodness spread through the support of our people, we aim to bring a moment of smile to the faces of women and children in Afghanistan, who are enduring difficult circumstances. “During Eid AL Adha and in the times ahead, we strive for the Dua of the oppressed and innocent, and we will persist in spreading goodness.”
Furthermore, Cenk Ünal, the Chargé d’Affaires and Mission Chief of the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, also donated his Qurbani on his behalf to TDV.
Today is the first day of Eid Al-Adha celebrated in Afghanistan.
