The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has begun the process of Qurbani on Behalf slaughter in Zimbabwe to help the needy.
TDV volunteers in Zimbabwe began Qurbanies after performing the Eid prayer in areas selected for Qurbani slaughter, as Eid al-Adha commenced today.
In the 2024 Year Qurbani Organization organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (DİB) and TDV under the theme “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother”, approximately 1,500 cattle will be made in Zimbabwe, totaling about 10,500 shares.
In Zimbabwe, where Qurbanies slaughters are carried out across four regions, 900 cattle will be slaughtered in the Mutoko region, 400 in the Buhera region, 150 in the Rushinga region, and 50 in the Macheke region. Furthermore, the Qurbani slaughters will be recorded on camera, and videos of the slaughtering moment can be provided to the owners of Qurbani documents upon request. The Qurbani slaughters will continue until the third day of the Eid Al Adha.
Seyit Akça, a representative of TDV, mentioned that the 2024 Qurbani on Behalf Organization in Zimbabwe is moving forward as scheduled.
Akça noted the importance of the increased number of Qurbani donations compared to the previous year, especially for the local community experiencing hardship due to drought, and expressed gratitude to the donors.
The Qurbanies slaughtered by TDV in Zimbabwe will be distributed among 45,000 needy families across 10 different regions.
