The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has delivered aid to 200,000 people in Gaza since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was established on January 19. Following the activation of border crossings into Gaza, TDV has increased its activities and will send 100 lorries of humanitarian aid to Palestinians during holy Ramadan. TDV’s General Manager, İzani Turan, expressed hope that the ceasefire will continue to ensure the smooth delivery of aid to Gaza.
“Since the 7th of October 2023, we have sent 501 lorries of humanitarian aid to Gaza.”
Stating that they continue to provide uninterrupted aid to Gaza, Turan said, “Since October 7, 2023, we have transported 501 lorries of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Within this, we have supplied the needs that can be imagined from fuel used in hospitals to hot food, from diapers to wheelchairs, from crutches to quilts and blankets. We have delivered the trust of our nation.”
According to Turan, the aid was delivered to Gaza through partner organizations inside the region, and also sent via Egypt in cooperation with AFAD and the Turkish Red Crescent, benefiting over 4 million people overall.
“100 lorries of humanitarian aid in the holy month of Ramadan”
Highlighting that they plan to send more aid to Gaza if the ceasefire holds, Turan remarked, “Since the ceasefire began, we have reached 200,000 people in Gaza.
“With Ramadan approaching, we are getting ready with 50 truckloads of humanitarian aid. Al Khair Foundation, our partner, will also send 50 lorries. In total, we will deliver 100 lorries of aid to our Gazan siblings. We will organize iftar and suhoor programs, distribute hot bread, and continue our hot meal donation,” he said. Turan emphasized that when the war ends, they will focus on repairing the schools and mosques in Gaza, and once the gates are fully opened, they will activate all available means.
