Expressing that they always strive to be with them during difficult times when people require support, Acik said that they do not leave the oppressed who are waiting for the aid of the Turkish Nation abroad while rushing to the needy after Ramadan and Qurbani periods in Turkiye, as well as disasters such as pandemics, earthquakes, floods, and wildfires.

Aid for nearly 8 million people domestically

Defining that the Turkish nation competes with each other in terms of cooperation and charity from the smallest to the oldest, He stated:

“We are a people who never feel full when their neighbors are hungry and we compete in charity from 7 to 70. In our country, in addition to Ramadan and Qurbani periods, we strive to be with the needy by slaughtering the Oblation and Aqiqa Qurbanies donated by our charitable during the year. During the pandemic, we also mobilized to provide aid to all segments of society, especially to our patients and elderly citizens, along with our religious officials. In 2021, we provided nearly 8 million people in the country with cash aid to approximately 90,000 siblings, in-kind aid to 325,000 people, Bairam clothes to nearly 10,000 needy students, scholarships and education support to 138,000 students, shopping aid cards to nearly 400,00 people, disaster relief support to 160,000 people, clothing, shelter, food aid to nearly 5,800 people, Qurbanies including Aqiqa, and pandemic aid to 3.5 million people.”

Acik also said that many charitable stores in many cities are aiding those in need to free shop, Acik added: “In addition, we do not leave our citizens alone in disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and wildfires. We have mobilized all the facilities of our foundation for our citizens in disasters such as forest fires in Antalya and Mugla during the floods in Kastamonu, Bartin, Sinop, and Rize provinces.”

Aid for 33 million people in 77 countries

Noting that the Turkish nation is “Hoped for one” in all periods of history and that Turkiye Diyanet Foundation has fulfilled this task, Acik said, “In 2021, we delivered aid to more than 33 million needy people in 77 countries under the headings of education, water well, crisis zones, especially Ramadan and our Qurbani activities. Sometimes we became a warm smile, sometimes a bowl of soup, sometimes a warm home, but most importantly, a sibling. With the aid we delivered, we made the oppressed feel that they were not alone.”

Pointing out that one of the most important organizations of Turkiye Diyanet Foundation is the Qurbani on the needy’s behalf, which it carries out with the theme of Share Your Qurbani Get Closer to Your Brother, Acik said that in this context, 589 thousand 136 shares of Qurbani were delivered to approximately 25 million people in Turkiye and 339 regions in 77 countries.

Saying that they have completed 761 water wells and foundation fountains with depths ranging from 50 to 500 meters in 38 countries in total and put them at the service of the needy, Acik said, “We can preserve our heritage left by our ancestors with the water well and foundation fountains we have opened as members of a religion that recommends bringing water to living things and a civilization that carries water to every corner of humans.”

Stating that as Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, they are also working to support the religious life of the communities, Acik said, “Within the scope of the ‘ My Present Is Quran’ project that we carried out with our Presidency of Religious Affairs, we delivered the translated Qurans that we have printed in Arabic, Azerbaijani, French, English, Spanish, Kazakh, Mongolian, Uzbek, Yorubaca and Japanese languages to our brothers and sisters in 30 countries in 2021. In the same year, we delivered a total of 251,256 Qurans to the needy, including 36,206 domestically and 215,50 abroad. Since we launched the project in 2015, we have distributed 1 million 228 thousand 357 Qurans in 81 countries with our country, which we have printed in 36 languages and dialects.”

Emphasizing that the war victims have been trying to heal their wounds since the first day of the war in Syria, Acik said, “We have completed 4,261 houses in Idlib and Azez regions in 2021 within the scope of the “One Goodness, One Warm Home” project we have developed. This project is one of the most important issues in the region and we have elevated our families, who are struggling for their lives in tents in the mud stream, to a warm home.” “he spoke.

Furthermore, he said that humanitarian aid is still being carried out in areas such as Arakan, Yemen, and Palestine, where the crisis continues and where there is a human tragedy is experienced.

“Alhamdulillah, We regard every living thing created by Allah as His trust. This year we have become the hope of the oppressed and the victim who has been watching our way around the world. Even though we speak different languages in different geographies, we have delivered the aid of our charitable nation to the needy. We tried to solve the difficulties they had by delivering the trust of our charitable to more than 41 million brothers and sisters in Turkiye and abroad”.
