From the beginning of 2022, Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, which has been carrying out charity activities in Syria since the beginning of the war, delivered aid to approximately 80,000 families in 1.5 months.
Ihsan Acik, the second Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, said that they strive to be with every living creature in need in our country or abroad.
Emphasizing that the biggest drama in recent years has occurred in Syria and that families who are victims of war in difficult winter circumstances are trying to survive in very difficult conditions, Acik said, “From the beginning of 2022, under the impact of harsh winter circumstances; we strive to heal the wounds of our Syrian siblings with the support of our Turkiye Diyanet Foundation and our noble nation, by starting a charity movement at a time when children were going to bed for fear of freezing, and parents had to keep watch to keep their children from freezing. Alhamdulillah, our citizens have made a very significant contribution to our mobilization. We delivered hundreds of trucks of aid to our brothers and sisters in Syria.”
Emphasizing that the cash and in-kind aid collected over 1.5 months were delivered to families in 113 locations in Idlib, Azez, Maree, El-Bab, and Cerablus, Acik said:
“So far, we have brought aid to about 80,000 families. Within the scope of our charity movement (aid mobilization), we distributed 2,41 tons of coal, 4,43 stoves, 26,362 blankets, 6,036 nourishment boxes, 2,600 cleaning packages, coats, cardigans, boots, scarves, berets, and gloves to 9,500 people. Fortunately, our children can put their heads on the pillow without fear of freezing.”
6214 Goodness Residences delivered to families
On the one hand, while providing in-kind and cash aid, they are striving to move families struggling to survive in freezing temperatures in tent cities to warm homes, He said, “Within the scope of the Goodness Residences project, which we carried out with the theme of One Goodness, One warm Home, we have completed 6214 residences so far and moved our families to a warmer and more livable environment.
We have built concrete homes with two 38-square-meter rooms, a toilet and a bathroom, a kitchen, and a courtyard, enabling war-torn families to live their lives in more excellent comfort. We are still working in the region. We will deliver to our families after our houses are completed.” “he spoke.
He stressed that citizens who want to support can contribute to the goodness campaign by donating any amounts they want from the bagis.tdv.org address.
