The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation provided an iftar at the Hala Sultan Mosque in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Around 500 people attended iftar, which was organized as part of the 2022 Ramadan program by the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation.
Mustafa Çekiç, Director of Information and Communication Systems Department of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş sent greetings to the citizens in the TRNC.
Expressing that the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation organizes iftar programs and aid campaigns in oppressed and aggrieved geographies from all over the world this year, as every year, Çekiç said that they also carry out aid activities in the TRNC in this context.
As for the Ramadan aid of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, Çekiç said:
“We are here to distribute the consigned of our benefactor to the needy. In this context, we will distribute both our iftar-related programs and our ration-related programs, together with our friends here in our consultancy. From Africa to Latin America, from the Balkans to the Middle East, with the aid of our benefactors, we strive to reach wherever we reach with the support of our charitable people. Hopefully, we will work with the support of our benefactors to reach these geographies as much as we can.”
