Our Foundation aims to bring more than 8 million people worldwide to clean water with its water wells this year.
Within the scope of the “A Drop Of Life Water Well” and “Foundation Fountain” projects, TDV opened 320 water wells and foundation fountains in 23 countries last year and plans to open 350 water wells and foundation fountains in 25 countries this year.
With the support of our charitable, TDV has so far provided access to clean water for more than 6,800,000 people through water wells drilled in drought-sequencing areas, especially in African countries, and will provide more than 8 million people with a total of 1,150 water wells and foundation fountains by the end of this year.
Izani Turan, Director General of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, stated that the efforts to drill water wells and foundation fountains continue to increase each year.
Stating that they have been providing aid to those in need of clean water around the world since 2015 with the theme of “A Drop of Life,” İzani Turan said, “In many distressed regions, particularly in African countries, people are trying to survive with water that many people cannot even wash their hands.” said he.
In 17 countries in Ramadan, Turan said that they will open 101 water wells, whose donations and projects have been completed, and added, “more than 650 people from these 101 water wells and our foundation fountains will have access to clean drinking water. As members of a civilization that carries water wherever people live, we strive to keep the legacy left to us by our ancestors, by drilling water wells and foundation fountains in every geography that has difficulty in accessing clean drinking water.” he said.
The General Manager of TDVIzani Turan said that water wells built at 50 to 500 meters deep are working with solar energy, and said, “to meet water needs, people simply turn the faucet, just like in our homes. Since our wells are deep, it meets the needs of the local people for clean drinking water for many years before its water dries. In this respect, the importance of the fountains we have made increases.” used those statements.
