The program was organized in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the Laylat Al-Raghaib, which is considered the herald of holy months. After the program, Turkiye Diyanet Foundation distributed 2,000 Qurans and offered Turkish candle bagels, and sweets as part of the “My Present Is Quran” Project.
Turkiye’s Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Basceri, Head of Religious Affairs of the TRNC Ahmet Unsal, TDV Board of Trustees 2. chairman Ihsan Acik, TDV General Manager Izani Turan, TDV volunteer rap artist Resul Aydemir and national basketball player Furkan Aldemir and many TRNC citizens participated in the program organized at the Hala Sultan Mosque in the capital, Nicosia, which was organized with the organization of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of TRNC, Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), and the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia.
As they filled the mosque, the inhabitants experienced the spiritual atmosphere of the candle. The mosque community listened to the speech of TDV General Manager Izani Turan after the Quran recitation and the Mevlid-i Sharif. The program came to an end after the prayers and Dua were said.
