Izani Turan, General Manager of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), met with Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, Governor of Sokoto State of Nigeria.
Turan, who was in Nigeria for the opening of the water wells built by TDV, met with Aliyu in Sokoto Governorate. During the meeting, Turan stated that TDV was established to serve in Türkiye and that the foundation has now reached the point of an Islamic Ummah foundation with the aid and support of Turkish donors.
Turan emphasized that TDV strives to provide service in various forms to 149 countries worldwide. Includes delivering Zakat to some places, providing aid through Qurbani in others, supplying food and clothing in some regions, supporting orphanages in different places, establishing educational institutions, and, as is the case today, opening water wells in regions in need of clean water.
Stating that TDV has educated more than 10 thousand students in 114 countries and graduated about 10 thousand students, Turan declared that TDV completes all the needs of these students without expecting anything in return.
Turan shared that TDV has slaughtered and distributed 20,000 Qurbani shares in Nigeria during Eid al-Adha, and he expressed his hope that these activities will increase.
Turan emphasized that the foundation’s slogan is “Until goodness prevails on Earth,” he stated that they will continue to work tirelessly until goodness prevails on Earth.
Governor Aliyu of Sokoto expressed that Nigeria is a country benefiting from the support provided by Türkiye and extended his gratitude for the aid.
