TDV and DITIB provide Ramadan aid to Kosovo

Food packages are being distributed by Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) and the Germany-based Turkish Islamic Union of Religious Affairs (DITIB) to about 2,000 needy families in Kosovo this year for Ramadan.

Turkiye’s Deputy Consul in Prizren İsmail Cenk Şen, DITIB, and TDV volunteers participated in the aid distribution organized in Prizren, Kosovo in cooperation with the Religious Services Consultancy of the Turkish Embassy in Pristina.

Deputy Consultant for Religious Services Bilal Coşkun said that they are trying to provide food aid to those in need, regardless of religion, race.

“We distribute nearly 2,000 boxes of aid to those in need in Kosovo, who we have identified by working in partnership with the Kosovo mufti. We would like to thank all the humanitarians and our Muslim brothers and sisters in Turkiye and Germany for their aid.”

TDV representative Abdulkadir Sylka said they would organize various activities for Balkan countries during Ramadan.

Sylka said: “Within the scope of the ‘My Present Is Quran’ project of our Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, we will distribute the Holy Quran in all Balkan countries. Hopefully, 1,000 Holy Qurans will be distributed in Kosovo within the framework of this program.”

DITIB representative Yakup Aydın also pointed out that they were able to deliver aid thanks to the donations of benefactors.

During Ramadan, 2,000 food packages will be delivered to those in need determined by municipalities such as Pristina and Mamusha, as well as to Prizren.
