
The Turkish Islamic Union of Religious Affairs (DITIB) distributed 6,000 food packages to the needy in Kenya as part of the Ramadan program launched in cooperation with Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) under the theme of “there are brothers who need you”.
Mehmet Fatih İldeş, Counsellor for Religious Services in Nairobi, Kenya, said in a statement that they have started Ramadan aid in Kenya in cooperation with DITIB and TDV.
“Within the framework of the 2022 Ramadan program, TDV and DITIB distributed 6,000 food packages in Nairobi, Isolo, Garissa, Mombasa, Mariakani, Tana River, Kajiado, and Basil regions of Kenya,” he said.
Stating that the orphanages operating in these regions have also been visited, Ildeş noted that they have provided educational materials and clothing to orphanages.
“The Holy Quran was presented as a gift within the scope of the My Present Is Quran Project. During Ramadan, 10,000 people will be provided with iftar in Kenya,” he said.
