TDV plans to provide 11,200 shares of Qurbani meat to the needy in Burundi

TDV volunteers recently arrived in Bujumbura, the capital of the East African country of Burundi, and have completed their preparations.

Within this framework, volunteers provided training to the personnel assigned to the organization, carried out the purchase of Qurbani animals, and checked the slaughterhouses in the city, which will host slaughters at three different points.

According to Muhammet Fatih Sarıkaya, the TDV Coordinator in Burundi, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation executes Qurbani on behalf programs in numerous countries worldwide.

Sarıkaya commented that they initiated their activities in Bujumbura as Eid al-Adha approached, and he said:

“We will carry out slaughters in three regions here. Our objective is to ensure that the Qurbani entrusted by our esteemed donors reaches those who are in need. Here, we are targeting the distribution of 11,200 shares of Qurbani meat to around 200,000 families. Due to the flood disaster experienced last year, we will also distribute shares of Qurbani meat to our brothers and sisters who are temporarily living in camps. May Allah be pleased with all our donors and accept their goodness.”

Expressing the joy of delivering aid to their Muslim brothers and sisters and the needy in these geographies, Sarıkaya said, “We will carry out this organization with 14 volunteer brothers and sisters. We are pleased to be this close to reaching those in need here. May Allah Almighty grant everyone the chance to take part in such initiatives. InshaAllah, we will fulfill our duty diligently this year too.
