As part of its Qurbani program, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) is targeting to reach one million people in Burkina Faso with 35,000 shares of Qurbani meat.
Upon arriving in the country, TDV volunteers performed Eid prayer in Ulmigo, near the capital Ouagadougou, and inspected the slaughter areas where the Qurbani will be carried out.
Following this, volunteers began Qurbani operations in 19 different regions.
Dr. Hasan Rami Kara, Religious Services Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Ouagadougou, stated that the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) is organizing Qurbani programs in a total of 80 countries this year.
Dr. Hasan Rami Kara emphasized that the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation will carry out Qurbani operations across multiple areas in Burkina Faso.
“We aim to slaughter 5,000 cattle equivalent to 35,000 shares entrusted by generous donors in Türkiye, and distribute the meat to around one million needy people across Burkina Faso. Our 34-member team will operate in 19 regions to ensure the Qurbani are performed and delivered in the best conditions.”
Kara also noted that the foundation is drilling water wells and providing educational scholarships in Burkina Faso, and expressed their desire to expand these services.
He extended Eid greetings to all donors, saying, “I would like to reassure them that their trusts are in safe hands.”
