Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has launched Qurbani meat distributions in four regions of Mauritania as part of its “Qurbani on behalf of our donors Program.”
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, which began in the country on June 7, TDV officials and volunteers arrived in Mauritania and dispersed to various regions.
Following the Eid prayer, the teams began the Qurbani process in Brakna, Nouakchott, Hodh Ech Chargui, and Hodh El Gharbi.
As per Islamic guidelines, the names of the donors who entrusted their Qurbani to TDV are recited before each Qurbani, followed by Takbir (praise of Allah) during the slaughter.
The entire process is recorded on video and can be shared with donors upon request.
Through donations made under the Qurbani Program, TDV plans to distribute approximately 19,000 shares of Qurbani meat to needy families across Mauritania.
