A convoy of 15 humanitarian aid trucks was dispatched from Konya to Gaza

A convoy of 15 humanitarian aid trucks carrying 10,000 food packages departed from Konya for Gaza following a send-off ceremony accompanied by Dua.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy President of Religious Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Ahmet İshak Demir.

The aid packages, prepared with the contributions of donors under the coordination of the Konya Provincial Mufti’s Office and the TDV Konya Branch, will be delivered to Gaza through the Turkish Red Crescent.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Panorama Museum Park, Demir conveyed the greetings of the President of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, to the people of Konya.

Demir described the situation in Gaza as painful and difficult, noting that where a person is born is not something they choose. “We could have been born there, but we were born here. We might have chosen not to contribute to these aid trucks, yet we did. Being on this side—fortunate enough to help—is very meaningful,” he said.

Quoting Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, Demir added, “If the cloud does not cry, how will the earth smile?” emphasizing that sorrow and joy often exist side by side in the world.

Demir said they had gathered to send 15 humanitarian aid trucks to support the people of Gaza and thanked the residents of Konya for their generosity. “Konya deserves great appreciation. I applaud the people of Konya,” he said.

Konya Provincial Mufti and TDV Branch President Prof. Dr. Ali Öge also expressed gratitude to donors and supporters, stating that they will continue to stand by the people of Gaza.

Following the speeches, prayers were recited, and the 15 aid trucks departed for Gaza.
