Through its “Qurbani on behalf of our donors Program,” the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has distributed meat from 19,000 Qurbani shares to nearly 122,000 needy people in Mauritania, West Africa.
A dedicated 22-person team from Türkiye, dispatched by TDV, has been working intensively since the first day of Eid al-Adha to bring Eid joy to families throughout the country.
Bringing smiles to children’s faces, TDV staff shared Eid cheer by playing with them and distributing balloons, candy, and toys. They also took time to engage personally with the families.
In parallel, they made great efforts to distribute Qurbani meat from entrusted donations to 122,000 needy people.
19,000 shares of Qurbani animals donated by generous people in Türkiye were slaughtered under the supervision of TDV officials starting from the first day of Eid Al Adha in the regions of Bragna, Nouakchott, Hodh Echargui, and Hodh El-Sharqi.
The meat was distributed to needy families with the support of local authorities and government officials, accompanied by TDV volunteers.
