Turkiye Diaynet Foundation (TDV) has conveyed a smile to the faces of 1,500 needy people in the West African country of Benin as part of the Ramadan package aid.
In Benin, where TDV continues its aid intensively, packages containing necessities such as flour, oil, sugar, rice, and pasta were delivered to the needy in the gardens of schools in various parts of the country.
Candy and Turkish flag balloons were also presented to the children of families who were happy with the aid.
TDV members also slaughtered 15 cattle in the countryside, distributing them to the needy.
TDV II. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ihsan Açık, stated that they continued Ramadan activities in 82 countries.
“They entrusted us with their aid,” he said, adding that the packages were prepared with the support of benefactors.
We took these aid in trust and brought them to our siblings here. Our brothers here will be comfortable having iftar and Sahour tonight,” he said.
Explaining that they donated Ramadan packages to 1500 families in Benin, Açık said:
“Not only here, but in 82 countries, we began distributing food packages before Ramadan began. If Allah will, this aid will continue until the last day of Ramadan as the support of our brothers’ increases. Hopefully, we’ll give away the Bairam clothes. Both we and these brothers will be very happy. So glad we have you, Turkiye.”
