Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has provided cash aid to orphaned children in Afghanistan.

A ceremony for the distribution of aid took place at the TDV orphanage in the northern town of Mazar-i Sharif.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Abduljelil Alpkıray, Attaché of Religious Services at the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, said that as TDV, they have long supported orphaned children in Afghanistan. Alpkıray stated that TDV offers $25 in cash to 74 orphan children in Afghanistan every month, and expressed hope that this number would grow even further in the future. Alpkıray also noted that TDV has delivered aid to about 250 orphan children across the country in different areas. Alpkıray said that 50 orphans were sheltered in the orphanage recently built by the TDV in Mazar-i Sharif. He said also that all of these children’s needs, from their education to health, are met.

Alpkıray thanked the charitable in Turkiye who took care of the orphans.

After the speeches, each orphan was handed over $150 in cash aid packages of six-month expenses.
