Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has started distributing 10,500 shares of Qurbani meat to needy families in Ghana within the scope of the “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother” program.
TDV will deliver aid to Dodova, Tamale, Akimoda, Kofaridua, Yendi, and Volta, which are poor areas of Ghana, during the Eid al-Adha.
The distribution of Qurbani meat, which is aimed to reach approximately 400 thousand people, started in the Dodova region in the north of Accra.
Süleyman Kısaoğlu, Ghana Representative of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, inspected the Qurbani slaughter site, thanked all the donors, and said that there are many needy people in Ghana and that the people of Ghana are very happy about this help.
Journalist-writer Mehmet Ardıç and actor Burak Haktanı, who came to Ghana as TDV volunteers within the scope of the program, also made statements.
Pointing out that this organization of TDV made him very happy as a Turkish citizen, Ardıç said, “The names of our brothers who donated Qurbani from Türkiye are read here one by one, Qurbani is slaughtered and delivered to those in need.”
