The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) witnessed strong interest in its Diyanet Scholarship Program during a recent selection process held in Nigeria.
From April 17–19, students from various states across the country traveled with their families to the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) in Abuja to sit for written exams and interviews.
The applicants competed for places in the International Anadolu Imam Hatip High School, International Theology Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Theology programs. Successful candidates will be granted the opportunity to pursue their studies in Türkiye.
Hüseyin Ortaç, Religious Services Counselor at TDV Abuja and a member of the selection committee, reported that approximately 700 Nigerian students applied for the program and were evaluated over the three-day process.
He emphasized that students who pass the exams will receive the right to study in Türkiye and highlighted the growing global interest in TDV’s educational initiatives.
“This program offers more than just education,” Ortaç said. “It strengthens the cultural and religious ties between Türkiye and Nigeria.”
Through its long-standing international scholarship programs, TDV continues to offer educational opportunities to students from around the world.
