Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) officials made orphaned, and needy children smile with candy, balloons, and balls they offered in addition to food aid in Cambodia.

TDV Education Specialist Yahya Uyar and Mohammed Kamil Yaykan, an official of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, also took care of the children in the region they went to as part of Ramadan aid.

Uyar and Yaykan visited many cities and villages, especially the capital Phnom Penh, and presented various gifts such as candy, balloons, and footballs to orphans, and children in need which they brought from Turkiye.

TDV officers who took pictures with the children surrounding them encountered the attention of the children.

Uyar said that they came to the region as part of Ramadan programs and student interviews and witnessed very sad stories in the region where poverty is deeply felt.

Uyar, who has experienced emotional moments, especially as he moves away from the capital, pointed out that poverty is increasing, said:

“We have come here to deliver our nation’s trust to our brothers and sisters in Cambodia. We witnessed the sparkle in the children’s eyes here. It’s so important to visit these people. We visited orphaned children. We’ve seen how happy they are with balloons, candy, and even a little ball. When we go to them, they won’t leave us. Maybe they are happier than we are with them than aiding them.”

Nure Nav, one of the children to whom the TDV team provided food aid to her family, said, “These brothers came from Turkiye to see us. They brought us candy, balloons, and food. They made us extremely happy, I thank them and all Turkiye very much.”
