9,544 foreign students from 111 countries who benefited from the International Scholarship Program of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) graduated from schools in Turkiye.
İhsan Açık, the 2nd Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, who was in Benin as part of the Ramadan organization, said that they were interviewing to select students to study in Turkiye within the scope of the International Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, the International Theology Undergraduate Program and the International Theology Graduate Scholarship Program.
Indicating that 9,544 students from 111 countries have graduated from their schools in Turkiye so far, Açık said, “We prepare dormitories, scholarships, and courses for the students selected as a result of the interview. We do very detailed interviews, we try to measure the student’s level. We’re trying to see if he can get an education in another country. We usually try to conduct our interviews in our embassies and Maarif foundations.” he said.
Stating that their priority as TDV is to select students to imam Hatip high schools and theology faculties, Açık noted:
“The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation says “education is the priority”. We believe that where there is education, many problems will be solved. The students we train come to their home country and become representatives of all activities of The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation and Turkiye. Our goal is to reach every country, first love Turkiye, then interest in Turkiye, and make sure that they serve their homeland in the best way. We try to take around 1,000 students every year. First of all, we teach Turkish to every student. We are laying the groundwork for him not to work in Turkiye, but to serve his own country after receiving his education.”
Abubajari Hassane, one of the students who participated in the interview to study in Turkiye, said that he knew about education online and said, “I aim to get a good education in Turkiye, then to return to my country and serve the people. May Allah protect the Turkish people.” he added.
