The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has provided food aid to 200 families in Punom Pen, Cambodia.
The program, organized in the garden of Nurunnaim Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the city, was attended by many Muslim families who are in need.
Ramadan aid containing food supplies was distributed to 200 families who attended the ceremony.
Cambodian Senior Minister for Muslims Datuk Oknha Osman Hasan said in a statement that this aid is very important.
He thanked the Religious Affairs President Ali Erbaş and the Turkish people for their support and said, “Cambodian students in Turkiye receive training and receive scholarships. These actions are also very important for us.” said he.
Stating that Turkiye has become more recognizable in Cambodia recently, Hasan said, “Cambodians did not know Turkiye, the people of Cambodia did not know Turkiye very well. The fact that it is away from it has a huge impact. Thanks to recent scholarship programs and aid, Cambodian people and Muslim communities know Turkiye very well and their conversation is increasing day by day.”
Diyanet Foundation Education Expert Yahya Uyar expressed his pleasure to be in Cambodia and said, “We thank Almighty Allah that we met in this Holy month. These aid are a present from the Turkish people and Muslims in Turkiye. We’re here today to share it. Almighty Allah made us brothers by saying, “certainly the believers are brothers.” We are here to fulfill the duty of this brotherhood. Wherever there is a Muslim, wherever there is need, we as Turkiye will continue to be there.” used those phrases.
