The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) distributed food aid to 900 needy families in Uzbekistan ahead of Ramadan.

The aid packages prepared for Ramadan were handed over by Mahmut Türk, Religious Services Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent, to representatives of the Vaqf Charity Fund “Vaqf Yardımlaşma Fonu”, which operates under the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, for distribution to needy families.

The 900 food parcels will be delivered to disadvantaged families in the Surkhandarya region through the Vaqf Charity Fund.

Türk said that, as in previous years, TDV prepared the packages before Ramadan to support Uzbek needy families and to share the spirit of the holy month.

Mircalal Kasimov, Head of Foreign Relations at the Vaqf Charity Fund, expressed his gratitude to Türkiye for the aid and said the packages would soon reach the needy.

Each 20-kilogram aid package includes staple foods such as flour, sunflower oil, rice, pasta, tea, salt and sugar.
