As part of the heartfelt campaign “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother,” the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation is bringing Eid joy to Togo.
With 2,100 Qurbani animals donated by generous benefactors, the foundation aims to deliver meat to 20,000 needy families.
A dedicated team of 17 members (12 staff and 5 volunteers) has traveled from Istanbul to serve communities in Togo.
Arriving in Lomé, they quickly spread to different cities where animals had been carefully selected and prepared in advance under veterinary supervision.
“With the aid of our donors, we are bringing the joy of Eid to family tables”
Alparslan Yılmaz, team leader of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) in Togo, stated that a portion of the Qurbani donations from Türkiye would be slaughtered in Togo as part of the “Share Your Qurbani, Get Closer to Your Brother” campaign.
He emphasized that the entrusted Qurbani animals would be carefully selected under veterinary supervision and slaughtered under Islamic regulations.
“We deliver the heartfelt greetings of our donors to brothers and sisters around the world. As TDV, we will carry out Qurbani slaughters this year in all 81 provinces of Türkiye and around 80 countries,” said Yılmaz.
He noted that 2,100 Qurbani animals would be slaughtered in Togo and the meat distributed in the cities of Lomé, Sokodé, Dankpen, Kara, Tchaoudjo, Kozah, and Kambolé through TDV staff and volunteers.
“Through these distributions, we aim to bring the blessing of Qurbani to around 20,000 families. All Qurbani slaughters will be carried out under Islamic rules. As TDV, we carry the joy of Eid and the spirit of sharing to these tables with the support of our generous donors,” he added.
