The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) provides year-round support to orphaned children both in Türkiye and abroad through its “If You Neglect Him He Remains An Orphan” project, helping meet their housing, education, and basic needs.
Within the scope of the initiative, TDV regularly supports 8,004 orphans in 60 provinces across Türkiye and 1,974 orphans in 19 countries overseas.
Through the program, TDV offers both financial and in-kind aid to orphans, covering their educational, housing, healthcare, and social needs. In addition, the foundation continues to support many more orphaned children through various projects and activities organized throughout the year.
Financial and moral support provided
The support provided to orphaned children includes shopping aid cards to cover food needs during Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, as well as clothing cards for holiday outfits.
At the beginning of the academic year, stationery aid is provided, while report card gifts are given at the end of the school year. Additional winter clothing support is also offered during the colder months.
Throughout the year, children receive spiritual and social support through female religious officials and the women’s branch of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), ensuring that both their material and emotional needs are addressed.
The foundation also organizes various events in Türkiye and abroad on the occasion of World Orphans Day, bringing smiles to the faces of orphaned children.
TDV enables orphan sponsorship with monthly support
The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation allows donors to sponsor orphaned children with a monthly contribution of 1,500 TL under its orphan support program.
Donors may contribute any amount through the foundation’s official online donation portal or commit to a minimum one-year sponsorship to become an orphan guardian.
The foundation aims to expand the program across Türkiye and reach more orphaned children in all 81 provinces.
Support abroad
TDV also runs three orphanages abroad—one in Tanzania and two in Afghanistan—providing accommodation for 177 orphaned children.
Furthermore, 360 orphaned students receive educational support through the foundation’s programs in Somalia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
