During the holy month of Ramadan, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation delivered the aid entrusted to the Turkish nation to a total of 2 million 46 thousand needy people domestically and abroad.
Türkiye Diyanet Foundation’s General Manager Izani Turan, providing information about holy Ramadan aid, stated, “With the theme ‘Do Not Forget Your Brothers, Hoped For One Is You,’ our priority in this year’s Ramadan aid was once again the earthquake-stricken areas and our bleeding wound, Palestine.” Izani Turan emphasized that throughout the holy month of Ramadan, they did not abandon the oppressed and victims, reaching out to them through 1003 branches in 81 provinces domestically and in 368 regions across 76 countries internationally. He said, “We delivered the entrusted belongings of our nation to our brothers and sisters so that they could spend the holy Ramadan peacefully.
Expressing their commitment to assisting the oppressed and the needy wherever they may be in the world, particularly in Türkiye, Turan stated, “Last year, we directed a significant portion of our aid to the earthquake-stricken areas.” Due to the calamity of the century, we have directed all of our holy Ramadan aid to our needy brothers and sisters in our country. This year, once again, our priority was the earthquake-stricken areas and our bleeding wound, Palestine. Additionally, our foundation continued to increase and sustain the mobilization of aid both within our country and in different geographies. Our nation, as it does every year, demonstrated its generosity this holy Ramadan by presenting the best examples of sharing, solidarity, and brotherhood to the entire world,” he said.
Turan emphasized that the support of the Turkish nation continues to grow daily, stating, “Despite all difficulties, our benevolent nation continues to support its neighbors, brothers, and orphans. Disasters and wars have left millions of people in distress, increasing the number of oppressed and needy. Alongside this, the sensitivity of our donating citizens has also increased, and we have become a bridge between the giving hand and the receiving hand,” he stated.
Aid to 2 million 46 thousand people in the amount of 354 million TL
Stating that they had the opportunity to carry the spiritual climate of the holy Ramadan to all corners of the world with the trust shared wholeheartedly by the Turkish nation, Turan continued as follows:
As part of our 2024 holy Ramadan program, we distributed aid to approximately 1 million of our brothers and sisters, primarily in earthquake-affected areas, through our 1003 branches across 81 provinces and all districts in Türkiye. This included 6,000 food packages, 85,190 shopping aid cards, and 23,640 sets of Eid clothing. Internationally, we reached out to over 1 million oppressed people by distributing 154,417 food packages, 279,850 Iftar and aid packages, and 15,300 sets of Eid clothing across 368 regions in 76 countries. As part of our holy Ramadan program, both domestically and internationally, we provided aid totaling 354 million TL to a total of 2,046,000 of our brothers and sisters.”
