As part of its holy Ramadan initiatives, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, in its ongoing support for Palestine, has finalized preparations for 16 lorries of humanitarian aid in Egypt, destined for delivery to Gaza.
Abdurrahman Çetin, Deputy General Manager of the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, provided information about the aid provided to Palestine, stating that they have delivered approximately 4 million dollars in aid since the start of the attacks on October 7th. He mentioned that they continue to assist in health and hygiene, in addition to food aid. Abdurrahman Çetin also stated that the Foundation has provided a total of 42 million dollars in aid to Palestine.
Çetin stated that the holy Ramadan aid initiatives for Palestine are ongoing in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. He mentioned, “As we approach the final 10 days of Ramadan, our aid procedures are proceeding at full pace.” He noted that the most frequently asked question from donors is regarding the delivery method of their aid. Currently, they are delivering aid to the region through three primary channels. Our priority is to provide our aid directly from inside Gaza and deliver it to our brothers and sisters as quickly as possible. To date, we have provided aid by providing daily meals and distributing food with internal procurements of 2 million 500 thousand dollars. We carry out our second working model by loading materials on the ships sent by our state from Türkiye. We conducted a maritime process worth approximately 1 million dollars. Similarly, as you can see, we transport the aid from the logistic bases in Cairo, Egypt, by loading them onto lorries and delivering them inside. We strive to efficiently manage all three aspects of our aid procedures.
Abdurrahman Çetin announced that 16 lorries loaded with aid will be delivered from logistical hubs in Egypt to reach Gaza. He specified that 10 of these lorries would transport food aid, while the remaining 6 would carry flour. Çetin emphasized their ongoing aid procedures since the onset of the attacks on October 7th. He stated, “Since October 7th, supported by our nation, we have
delivered around 4 million dollars in aid, and we remain committed to continuing our efforts vigorously. Thus far, we’ve contributed 42 million dollars to support the Palestinian question. We aim to expedite all our efforts to provide relief to the needy. Beyond food aid, our involvement extends to health, hygiene, and various other areas, and we remain committed to ongoing support in these aspects.
