
The Social Affairs Counsellorship of the Turkish Embassy in Dakar, in cooperation with the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), provided textbooks and notebooks to students of Bandia Primary School in the Thies region of Senegal.
The distribution ceremony held in Bandia was attended by Faruk Uslu, Social Affairs Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy in Dakar; Furkan Faruk Taze, TDV West Africa representative; local administrators, the school administration, teachers, students, and parents.
During the program, various educational materials were presented, and motivational speeches were delivered to encourage the students.
In his speech, Uslu emphasized that education is the cornerstone of societal advancement, stating: “These small gifts are not merely books and notebooks; they are doors opening to
knowledge, hope, and the future. Türkiye and Senegal are more than friends\ they are two brotherly nations. We are delighted to strengthen this brotherhood in the field of education.”
Uslu expressed his gratitude to TDV donors for their contributions and underlined that cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow in the future.
School Principal Ousmane Sall noted that many parents face difficulties in obtaining schoolbooks and stated that this support arrived at a critical time of need. The event concluded with a group photo session in the school courtyard.
