The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has transported 20 humanitarian aid trucks to the Gaza Strip through Egypt.

Maintaining its ongoing humanitarian aid efforts for Gaza—under Israeli blockade and bombardment for more than two years—TDV remains committed to supporting the needy.

A convoy of 20 trucks containing food items and hygiene materials departed from Cairo during an official ceremony and was delivered to Al-Arish en route to Gaza.

Türkiye has never abandoned Gaza; its government and its people have stood shoulder to shoulder with Gaza throughout

During his remarks at the ceremony, TDV General Manager İzani Turan underlined that the world has, for a long time, merely watched the genocide and humanitarian catastrophe taking place in the Gaza Strip. Despite this global silence, Turan stressed that people of conscience continue to show concern for Gaza.

He continued, “Throughout this period, our beloved Türkiye, its government, its people, and its civil society organizations have consistently supported Gaza and will continue to do so.”

Turan stated that their activities in Egypt convey a clear message of solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, and affirmed that they are striving to deliver 20 trucks of humanitarian aid to Gaza via the Al-Khair Foundation.

Just as it did in the past, Türkiye stands firmly today with the oppressed in Palestine

Hüseyin Hazırlar, Deputy President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, highlighted that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has exceeded what any human mind or heart can endure. He reminded listeners that for two long years, the people of Palestine have endured relentless bombardments, massacres, and a systematic genocide.

“Wars always burden children and innocent souls with the heaviest toll,” he said. “Our siblings in Gaza have been stripped of life’s most necessities. They have been pushed to a point where merely living with dignity has become a need.”

Hazırlar emphasized that Türkiye, its state and its people, has remained on the side of the oppressed, just as it has throughout history. “Our noble people continue to send aid to these oppressed siblings through TDV, preserving a legacy of compassion entrusted to them.”

He noted that since the beginning of the Israeli assaults, the Turkish people have sent one thousand trucks of humanitarian supplies to Gaza through TDV, and aid exceeding 40 million dollars has already reached Gaza.

Today, as Gaza attempts to rebuild its shattered existence, he added, Turkish citizens are once again stepping forward by sending another 20 trucks of aid.

It is a manifestation of the Turkish nation’s compassion for the afflicted and oppressed people of Gaza

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, affirmed that they were in Egypt to facilitate the dispatch of 20 humanitarian aid trucks to Gaza, as part of the cooperative efforts led by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation and the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

Şen highlighted that these initiatives are, in essence, an expression of the Turkish nation’s deep compassion and unwavering commitment to the afflicted Palestinian people in Gaza. He went on to state:

“The environment enabling these aid deliveries emerged months after the ceasefire negotiations conducted by Egypt, the United States, and Qatar with Hamas and Israel, a process in which Türkiye made a substantial contribution. This agreement allowed large-scale humanitarian aid to be transported through Egypt. Thus, Türkiye has invested significant diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in cooperation with Egypt and other regional partners, both in establishing a ceasefire and ensuring long-term peace as well as securing humanitarian access to Gaza.”

Ambassador Şen reiterated that Türkiye remains steadfast in supporting Gaza’s future and will continue delivering humanitarian aid in cooperation with Egypt.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza remains unabated

According to Ambassador Mehmet Güllüoğlu, Coordinator of Palestinian Aid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip persists despite the peace agreement and recent positive steps. Güllüoğlu underscored the significance of not only continued humanitarian aid to the area, which has endured extensive bombardment and destruction, but also the reconstruction of Gaza and the treatment of its injured population. “Our objective is to help establish a life in Gaza that upholds human dignity,” he affirmed.

He stressed that while food supplies remain essential, access to medicine and medical services for the wounded is equally critical. With winter drawing near, he warned that the already harsh humanitarian conditions will further deteriorate. Güllüoğlu also acknowledged Egypt’s valuable support in facilitating the entry of aid.
