Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) distributed Qurbani meat to 25 thousand Afghan families across Afghanistan on the first day of Eid al-Adha through the donations of generous benefactors from Türkiye.

Through the “Qurbani on Behalf ” organization organized in cooperation with the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, the donation of Qurbani meat from generous benefactors in Türkiye was delivered to 25,000 low-income Afghan families in a total of 16 provinces, including the capital Kabul, as well as Herat, Kandahar, Faryab, Kunduz, and Badghis.

5 kilograms of Qurbani meat were delivered to each family.

Through ongoing aid organizations on the remaining days of Eid al-Adha in those provinces, a total of 11,200 shares of Qurbani meat are planned to be distributed to 40,000 low-income Afghan families.

In this context, Abdulkadir Bekiroğlu, Religious Affairs Counselor of the Embassy of Türkiye in Kabul, and Muhammed Selim Hakkani, the Provincial Director of the State Ministry of Combating Natural Disasters, attended the ceremony held in the capital, Kabul, at the Taliban Administration’s State Ministry for Combating Natural Disasters.

Bekiroğlu stated that it is very important for the Afghan people to feel Türkiye’s support on special days such as Eid Al Adha, and said:

This year, aid will be provided to 40,000 families, which, taking into account the large size of Afghan families, will reach approximately 200-250 thousand people. The distribution programs will span over 3 days, particularly in major cities such as Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, and Mazar-i Sharif. I would like to express my gratitude to our people, especially Turkish organizations such as the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, who deliver their Qurbanies to the people in oppressed regions.”

Mohammed Selim Hakkani, Kabul Provincial Director of the Ministry of State for Combating Natural Disasters, stated that Türkiye has always stood by the Afghan people and extended his gratitude for their aid.

Following the ceremony, 500 low-income families were provided with Qurbani meat aid.
