The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) provides clean drinking water for many people with its water wells drilled in African countries with the donations of benefactors.

TDV, which has been carrying out charitable activities for the needy either in our country or abroad for 50 years, continues to work to bring people together with clean drinking water, especially in the African Continent.

In this context, the foundation continues to meet the most vital needs of the local people, with water wells opened in many countries with the support of donors.

TDV aims to increase this number to 1,200 by the end of the year by bringing together 890 water wells and fountains that have opened to 7 million people in 25 countries as part of the “ADrop of Life Water Well” and “Foundation Fountain” projects.

The foundation also went to help those struggling to find clean water in Niger’s Maradi region and drilled water wells to meet the needs of many. The happiness of the people who had clean drinking water was read through their eyes.

“We witnessed the excitement of people and the happiness of children”

TDV Deputy General Manager Abdurrahman Çetin said that within the scope of the project, they drilled the 73rd well in Niger and that their activities in this direction would continue in the country.

Çetin said that millions of people benefited from the water wells drilled, “We are in the Maradi region, 3,000 people will be injured in this area from the water well we have drilled. We drilled water well with a depth of 60 meters that works with solar panels. Here we witnessed the excitement of people and the happiness of children.”

Çetin stated that the number of water wells projected worldwide is around 1200, and noted:

“We are now 890 across the world. We are always digging wells, and that number keeps going up. We will reach 900 in about a month. These are all deepwater wells and water wells with high costs.”

Stating that approximately 5 thousand people can benefit from each well, Çetin said, “The most important thing is that it is sustainable. About 10 to 20 years, the water does not run out because it is deep. The flag and the feeds of our nation are here.” made its assessment.
