Mosque associations affiliated with the Turkish Islamic Union of Religious Affairs (DITIB) in Germany have opened 12 water wells and foundation fountains in Benin and Togo from African countries as part of the “A Drop of Life” project carried out by the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation. In addition, food aid was provided to 700 families.
Ugur Ayverdi, the president of the Wickede Anatolian Mosque Association stated that the students also supported the aid campaign and stated that the students of the DITIB Anatolian Mosque course sent their pocket money and their favorite toys to African children.
Ayverdi said: “We delivered the aid entrusted to us and the DITIB family with confidence to the needy. May Almighty Allah bless our community, members, and charitable who aid and support us”.
Ayverdi said that he had been impressed by the students of the Quran course with their behavior, and said: “We are happy that the students who expressed that the children in Africa are not as lucky as we are, share their money and favorite toys that they have accumulated in their piggy banks with their African brothers and sisters.”
